What's the difference between the initial clean and recurring cleans?
Quick answer
Initial is the reset — higher baseline levels across the board, plus items that only happen once (inside oven, behind appliances, full grout). Recurring is maintenance at the levels you tuned together.
Most homes need a reset before maintenance makes sense. The initial clean does that — higher service levels everywhere, plus specific deep-work items that don't need to happen every visit. Once your home is reset, recurring keeps it there.
The two templates are different:
- **Initial template** — higher default levels everywhere; includes oven interior, fridge interior, behind major appliances, baseboards, grout treatment, window tracks
- **Recurring template** — maintenance levels, focused on the surfaces and rooms that need ongoing attention
Your home plan starts from one of these templates, modified by the problems you flagged. After visit 3, the recurring template is locked in as your routine.
What this means for your clean
- Visit 1 takes longer and costs more — it's the reset
- Recurring visits are faster and cheaper because they're maintaining, not resetting
- One-time deep items (inside oven, fridge) appear automatically on visit 1. If you want them on recurring visits too, you can add them as ongoing items.
Exceptions
- If your home is already in great shape, you can skip the initial. We'll discuss this on the quote.
- Post-construction, post-renovation, or hoarding situations are different scopes — separate quote.
