How We Clean Your Microwave

Found in:Kitchen

Food splatters inside your microwave don't just sit there; the heat from subsequent uses bakes them onto the walls and ceiling, creating stubborn, crusted-on messes. These hardened residues are difficult to remove with simple wiping and can even become a breeding ground for odors.

What we don't do

  • We never use abrasive scrubbers or harsh chemical sprays directly on the microwave interior. Abrasives can permanently scratch the delicate interior coating, making future cleaning harder and potentially damaging the appliance. Harsh chemicals can leave behind residues that might transfer to your food when heated.

Why we do it this way

Simply scrubbing baked-on food in a microwave can scratch the delicate interior surfaces and often leaves behind a sticky film. Our method uses steam, generated by heating a bowl of water with lemon or vinegar, to rehydrate and loosen these tough food particles. This allows the caked-on grime to be wiped away easily, preventing damage and ensuring a truly clean surface.
